TasteCasting is coming to Kansas City

Greetings...

I am Dave Scott, and I have decided to help get TASTECASTING started in Kansas City.

It's a new idea, in a new city. So I am going to guess that not many of you have heard of this outfit, what's in it for socially connected networkers (bloggers, twitterers, Facebook, etc.)? What's in it for Restaurants, bars, food related storefronts or any foodie related joint???

Let me do a little cut and pasting from the TasteCasting web site (yep, it's WWW.TASTECASTING.COM ) But I digress, here's who we are...

Here's my short version of what's in it for you... the taster
  • You will get to taste some great food and drink. The places we go will want to show off for us.
  • The places we taste will be asked to give our friends, followers and readers a discount only available if they befriend, follow and/or read your stuff. Being able to offer discounts builds traffic on your site, as well as loyalty and good will.

Here's my short version of what's in it for you... the restaurant,
bar, food related storefront or any foodie related joint owner or manager
  • You get to connect with LOCAL KC social networking pros. By offering a single tasting for 5 couples, you will reach more than 1,250 of their friends, followers or readers.
  • You will be able to measure the results. By tracking hit counts and trends pre-event, you will know if interest in your business increases. By offering a "freebie"(free appetizer, half priced wine, free dessert, second entree free, etc) exclusive to our friends, followers or readers, you will know in a week if this campaign was a success.
  • Low cost (just the price of the tasting items), hundreds of interested (remember, these are not random people that we connect with. They have already added us as friends, followers or readers (they like us, and are more likely to listen to what we have to say)) potential new customers, and trackable results. This is a win, win, win for you.

Right now, we are assembling the teams, and looking for establishment willing to give social networking a chance to help their businesses. We are looking for active networkers. That translates into raw numbers. Do you have 250 friends on your facebook page? Are 250 people following your every Twitter move? Does your blog post attract 250 readers? Can you say that if you combine all your friends, followers and readers, 250 people care about what you have to say? I need to hear from you. Please drop me a comment with a way to reach you. Be an active part of our community. Help businesses get established and help established businesses make better connections.

One note to potential tasters about what we are not...

We are NOT professional reviewers or critics. We are interested in the community. We want to spread the word about positive experiences. Our goals are the same as the businesses that invite us. Our favorite businesses, our friendliest businesses deserve to have their best foot put forward.

If you want to help, join the team!
